The 2008 Arab Broadcast Forum will take place on May 4th and 5th at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
For the third consecutive year, broadcast news professionals and
executives from the Arab world and around the world will gather in Abu Dhabi for the Arab Broadcast Forum 2008.
ABF has quickly become the Arab world's premier conference in the broadcast industry with emphasis on news. It now attracts more than 300 delegates to discuss the key challenges and issues facing our sector and provides an outstanding networking opportunity.
In October 2007, leading executives from some of the top Arab and global broadcasters met at the ABF's Editorial Board meeting in Berlin and we have a draft agenda that is exciting and relevant for the region and beyond. Details are available by clicking on the Agenda 2008 button on this page.
If you have not attended ABF before, you will find this to be an unprecedented event in the Middle East. It is a professionally produced live television programme with wide audience participation rather than a simple conference. Last year, the entire event was broadcasted live on Abu Dhabi TV and Al Jazeera Mubashar in addition to several sessions which aired on Al Arabiya, LBC Sat, Al Jazeera and BBC Arabic-language radio.
This year, we are pleased to again be in Abu Dhabi again and we return to the spectacular Emirates Palace, the venue for our inaugural event in 2006.The Palace has agreed to grant delegates very competitive rates in one of the region's busiest capitals. Once again, Abu Dhabi TV serves as host broadcaster and will provide ABF with world-class facilities. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority will host a very special gala event during the conference. More details will be provided shortly.
Registrations will open in February and more information will be available shortly. The Arab Broadcast Forum, a not-for-profit event, relies on delegate fees and sponsorship to ensure the highest quality event for our attendees. Anyone wishing to become a sponsor of the event can find more information by clicking on the Sponsorship link.
If you work in or with the Arab broadcast news industry or simply have an interest in the industry, you simply cannot afford to miss the Arab Broadcast Forum.
Abu Dhabi Television and ABF look forward to welcoming you to the 2008 Arab Broadcast Forum and trust this vital international broadcast news event will take on even greater importance this year with the nature of the news agenda in the Middle East and growing participation by major broadcasters.
